PLAN
A $6,000 THREE-WEEK TRIP FOR TWO
During your freshman year
at SHS, you apply for a $6,000 grant to take a three-week trip with a friend to
a foreign country which neither of you have been. The grant will be awarded to a freshman for researching on the
Internet a foreign country and planning a trip to that country for two
people. You must use Word and Excel to
present your findings for the grant. If
you have time, extra credit points are given for preparing and presenting an animated
Power Point Presentation of your plans and research. You decide where you want to visit. You will locate virtual plane tickets and
hotel accommodations on Internet. You
must decide how much you want to spend on other expenses such as: Food,
Sightseeing, and Shopping / Souvenirs. You must allow for 10% unknown
contingency expenses. The provisions
to receiving this grant are:

Prepare one Word
document which you copy and paste research information and
URL’s.
·
Prepare a budget
using a spreadsheet to help you with your trip organization. Import your budget into your Word document
·
Prepare a 3-D pie chart
showing labels and percents. Copy & paste it into your Word
document.
·
Research your travel spot. Select areas to research from the given Research
Requirements table. After locating
information, BRIEFLY copy (a sentence or
two) information into your Word document and list the website URL where you
obtained the information.

Copy and Paste the website URL
for each research item into a document called “Trip URL’s”
·
If time permits, prepare a Power Point Presentation on your trip. This will be extra credit. Your first slide must have your
name(s). You must have sounds,
animation, and graphics.
1. AIRPLANE SCHEDULE
Look at a calendar and select dates that are at least a
month away. Flying during the middle of
the week is cheaper than on the weekends.
Locate a plane schedule and pricing.
Copy and paste your information into your word document along with the website URL.
2. HOTEL INFORMATION
Locate
hotel information (name, address, phone number) from a website. Copy and paste your information (20 nights)
into your word document along with the website URL.
3. MAP
Locate
and insert a map of the country or area in your Word Document. A good site to use is

Locate and insert a flag
of the country in your Word Document.
Do a search for your country’s flag.
5. BUDGET:
Figure out the formulas
to complete a budget.
6. INSERT A PIE CHART INTO WORD DOCUMENT:
Copy
and paste your pie chart into your Word document just below your budget.
7. 
PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS:
Search
for the passport and visa requirements for the country you want to visit. Copy and paste your information into your
word document along with the website URL.
