Mankind's First Steps...

Mankind's first steps were taken as an upright walker. Our human precursors walked upright as long as 3.7 million years ago. This was what first led to the pathways of human evolution, and as long as we have been human we have been upright walkers. The form is archetypal, as walkers we connect heaven and earth, and join our prehistoric past derived from the apes to our present humanity and future possibilities. From the Great Rift Valley of East Africa to our first footsteps on the Moon, we measure our progress by where we have left our footprints. Is it any wonder then that some of our greatest philosophers, writers, and artists have also been great walkers?
